  1. Welcome
  2. Introduction & Minutes Read. NOTE: Those attending Circulation meetings should write down their responses to the agenda topic(s) before the meeting and bring copies of their responses along to facilitate the taking of the minutes. See No. 3 below to write responses. We are revisiting this topic because of light attendance at the May 22, 2007 meeting. Library staff members are doing more technical work than in the past, and many "paraprofessionals" need special skills (i.e., with computers) to do their jobs.
  3. Certification for library paraprofessionals (certification as a form of recognition); research for meeting & bring what you find: Some questions to consider: What are the criteria for certification? What are the steps to take? What are the paraprofessional organizations (related to colleges/connected to ALA)? What are some ways to improve the job you are doing (via competencies and skill levels) and the way you are viewed?
  4. Sites: Suggesting sites for future Circulation Interest Group meetings, possibly including tours of the TCLC Library at those sites. Please consider directions, availability of visitor parking, and suitable meeting rooms when selecting a site.
  5. Closing, with tour of Rosemont Library for those interested.
