I Love My Computer: Jean Bennett, Instructional Technologist and Diane Skorina, Reference Librarian, Ursinus College Digital Natives love their computers and the trial and error method of finding, gathering, and disseminating their own new obtained knowledge. According to Stephan Abram, “People who know how to find, collect, and disseminate good information will be invaluable in our society.” Librarians can be a valuable part of this by recognizing that the library needs to be a community (as in social networking) of informing and assisting in the knowledge gain and betterment of life for their students. Understanding how the digital natives are using technology will help to make a rich society. |
